Have you ever been to Japan?
Have you ever been to Japan? If so, what did you do while you were there? Any tips for people that have never been to Japan?

Re: Have you ever been to Japan?
I'll have to watch that! WOW!!!
My wife and I went to Japan for our honeymoon and we spent 3 weeks traveling around Honshuu. We went all around Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Yokohama. It was AMAZING.
My wife is applying for a job over there and we are hoping she gets it.

Did you ever get lost in Osaka and Kyoto with all the shrines and temples?

Re: Have you ever been to Japan?
When I was in Tokyo, I visited the island Odaiba. It's a must-see.
You can go there either by boat or the sky train. The train is automatically driven through ultramodern Hamamatsucho and right beside the impressive Rainbow Bridge. On the island, there are many examples of futuristic architecture, such as the Fuji TV building. There's also this huge mall - Palette Town. The facade is pretty ordinary, but the inside is built like an italian street with fountains and shops and a ceiling that changes colour depending on the time of day. Great food and great shopping!

I agree, Cinna! I'd like to visit one too. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of swimwear. I don't know if that's customary or optional though. Has anybody in this forum ever visited an onsen? I'd like to know more about it!

I get you. I personally, may get used to it, because I come from a big family that lack privacy in certain things. So, I would get bothered in the beginning but I'll get used to it.

Re: Have you ever been to Japan?
As long as it's not a shared bath, haha! That'd be awkward. We don't do that in Sweden. But the moment when cultures collide is really interesting. That's one of the fascinating things about Japan. You're bound to find something strange over there.

Oh, we definitely share bathrooms because even though we live in the United States for a long time now, my family comes from Mexico, and yes, I agree, cultures are interesting and strange when they meet! I can't wait to go live in Japan and adventure many things!!

Re: Have you ever been to Japan?
Hi guys! Are you still alive?
I'm going back to Japan, Tokyo, in a few weeks, so I was just going to ask if you've got any suggestions on activities or other things that I shouldn't miss. Last time I was in Odaiba, Asakusa, Shibuya (central part), Harajuku (mostly on Takeshita Doori), Ueno (zoo), Akihabara (around the central station) and Yoyogi. But maybe there're important things on those locations that I've missed too. Basically, please help me, lol!

NO WAY! Have a lot of fun. TAKE PICTURES! I would go to the onsens!, Go to festivals, how is it there? Cold? Hot? Do some cherry blossoms viewing! Hanami! Eat tons of food! Of all kinds!
Um, I don't know what else, but live it!
Someday, I will definitely go and live there!! Argh, lucky you!
I'm happy for you.
Thank you for sharing.

Re: Have you ever been to Japan?
I'll take tons of pictures - I promise! Is there anything in particular that you guys would like to see?
Since I'm going in the middle of august, the humidity will be at its peak and it will be ridiculously hot for a Scandinavian like me. Where I live right now, it's about 22 C. In Japan, apparently, it's around 35 C! So I guess I'll just have to buy some new clothes before I go, haha.
Unfortunately, it's too late for hanami, and I don't think there are any festivals around when I'm going. Plus, I dunno where to find an onsen in Tokyo X( But hey - it's not like there's nothing left to do. I've promised my friend to try karaoke with her. And I'll eat lots of new things! It's so exciting that I'm about to cry, so I think I'd rather stop here. Anyways - GO THERE AS SOON AS YOU CAN! It's worth it. So much. Thanks for the suggestions

Take pictures of everything, anything. whatever you get inspired by. A sunrise, a Japanese girl, the street light, the moon in the Tokyo tower. Im so happy for you. I need to grow up and earn money, so its still a dream to me. But, hey, I will go. So, you do your thing. Awesome. karaoke, sounds fun. especially for me because I am a musician, and love music! Well, keep us updated!
